Wealthiest Russians accumulate USD24 billion to wealth
(MENAFN) Russia’s wealthiest individuals collectively increased their fortunes by more than $24.5 billion during the first six months of 2025, according to data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index released on Monday. The index monitors the financial standing of the world’s 500 richest people, adjusting in real time based on the stock performance of their associated companies.
Leading the list once again is Vladimir Potanin, a major stakeholder in Norilsk Nickel, who saw the biggest individual gain among Russian billionaires. His net worth surged by $3.85 billion to $31.7 billion.
Vagit Alekperov, the founder of oil giant Lukoil, ranked second, with his wealth increasing by $1.5 billion to $26.8 billion. Steel tycoon Alexey Mordashov, chairman of Severstal, placed third, having added $1.4 billion to reach a total of $24.7 billion.
Next in line was Vladimir Lisin, primary owner of the NLMK steel company, whose net worth dropped by $1.72 billion, making him the biggest loser among Russia’s top billionaires. His fortune now stands at $24.1 billion.
Leonid Mikhelson, a co-owner of gas producer Novatek, followed with a net worth of $23.7 billion after gaining $1.31 billion this year. Alisher Usmanov, who holds major stakes in Metalloinvest and MegaFon, experienced one of the largest increases, adding $3.17 billion to reach $16.4 billion.
Tatiana Kim, CEO and founder of Russia’s leading online retailer Wildberries, remains the richest Russian woman despite a $345 million drop in her wealth. She ranked 20th among the country’s billionaires with $7.03 billion. Just behind her was Aleksandr Abramov, co-founder of Evraz, with a net worth of $6.88 billion.
